The Sports Medicine and Rehab Therapy Clinic was designed in the late 1990's as a way to help local high school athletes receive prompt and free evaluations of their athletic injuries. Our team of physical therapists and athletic trainers has the skill and knowledge in treating and evaluating sports injuries to help return the athlete to their sport as fast as possible. Our team utilizes the latest sports medicine techniques and assessment tools to provide the best treatment in the area. The clinic offers free assessments of athletic injuries throughout the entire year for participating school athletes. We attempt to see the athlete on the day they call for an appointment to ensure as little time as possible is missed from their sport. A physician's referral is not needed. The clinic is run with the help of Dr. Ernesto Agbayani, a family medicine specialist who is able to advise on a further plan of care if needed, whether it is for radiology or physical therapy services.
Injury assessment is a big part of what the S.M.A.R.T. Clinic offers, but injury prevention and improving sports performance is critical as well. Throughout the year, the clinic offers a variety of programs to help train athletes in preventing injury and providing sport specific training. In the recent past, the clinic has designed and implemented the following programs for the local community:
ACL Prevention Program
Custom Made Mouthguards
