MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Board of Directors of West Virginia University Hospitals-East recently announced the election of new officers for the remainder of 2010.
Richard A. (Rick) Pill, an attorney with the firm of Pill & Pill in Martinsburg, was elected chairman. Pill has served on the WVUH-East board since January 2007, and has been in practice in Martinsburg since 1977 after graduating from West Virginia University with a Juris Doctor Degree. He practices general law with emphasis on real estate and business law.
In addition to the new chairman, the board also elected Walter Washington as vice-chairman and Sheila Hamilton as secretary. Douglas Widmeyer will remain as treasurer through the end of the year.
The 15-member WVUH-East Board includes representatives from Berkeley and Jefferson Counties as well as individuals from WVU’s Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center in Morgantown and the Eastern Division in Martinsburg.
On Jan. 1, 2005, WVUH-East became the parent corporation for City Hospital, Jefferson Memorial Hospital and all related entities of both hospitals. WVUH-East is a regional not-for-profit healthcare system serving the Eastern Panhandle.
