MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - West Virginia University Hospitals-East City Hospital officials announced plans today for a temporary entrance to the hospital’s main lobby.
From October 10 thru the first week in November, City Hospital will require temporary use of an alternate entrance/exit to the hospital. Signs will direct patients and visitors to the new hospital entrance, which is to the immediate right of the current main entrance.
“The current circular revolving doors at the hospital’s main entrance are being replaced by automatic sliding doors,” said Scott Mathis, facilities manager . “We appreciate everyone’s understanding of this change to accommodate our expansion and lobby renovation project.”
Once the doors are replaced and the main entrance reopens, the courtyard outside the main front entrance will be redone to include new sidewalks, a fountain, benches, and a new landscape design.
“Our goal is to make the front entrance to our hospital more appealing and energy efficient,” Mathis commented. He added that once this phase of the project is complete, the main lobby will receive a complete makeover beginning in early 2013 to include a new pre-admissions testing area.
