Wound Care Topic of Community Seminar

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - West Virginia University Hospitals-East and the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Eastern Division will sponsor a community mini-medical school program on wound care featuring the new Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine based at City Hospital.

The seminar, titled All About Wound Care, will be held on Tuesday, October 16 in the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center on the City Hospital campus. The discussion will focus on how to care for slow healing wounds. A tour of the new Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine, which is opening in November, will be offered following the program. 

The featured speaker is Robert Bowen, MD, medical director of the Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine, pulmonologist at City Hospital, and clinical associate professor for the WVU School of Medicine.

Sign-in for the community mini-medical school program begins at 6:30 pm, The program begins at 7 pm followed by a tour of the new wound care center. Light refreshments will be offered at the conclusion of the tour.

This community mini-medical school program is being offered free to the public as a community service of WVUH-East and the WVU Health Sciences Center Eastern Division. Reservations are strongly recommended. For more information or to register for this program, phone 304-264-1287, ext. 1760.
