Martinsburg, W. Va. --- Persons interested in learning more about the Lap-Band® procedure being performed at West Virginia University Hospitals-East City Hospital are invited to attend a free presentation on Monday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center, located on the City Hospital campus.
Dr. Robert E. Cicchino, Jr., a board certified general surgeon with University Surgical Associates, will provide an overview of the Lap band® procedure, explain the pros and cons of the system, and participants will have an opportunity to ask their questions.
The Lap Band® Adjustable gastric banding system is the first FDA approved procedure for use in weight reduction for patients whose weight is affecting their health. City Hospital and Cicchino began offering the procedure locally in 2011.
