MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - West Virginia University Hospitals-East and James E. Brown, MD, recently announced the opening of WVUH-East Obstetrics/Gynecology and the addition of Maria D. Merzouk, DO, to the practice.
Merzouk, a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist, has been an assistant professor of OB/GYN at the WVU School of Medicine in Morgantown since 2006. For the past year, she served as the director of medical student clerkship for OB/GYN.
Merzouk holds a general medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in OB/GYN at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, PA, and a Galloway Clinical Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
A Martinsburg native, Merzouk recently returned to Berkeley County with her husband and two children to join Dr. James Brown in practice at WVUH-East Obstetrics/Gynecology. She is a member of the medical staff at City Hospital and an assistant professor for the WVU School of Medicine Eastern Division.
