RANSON, W.Va. – West Virginia University Hospitals East’s Jefferson Memorial Hospital officials announced today that a signed sales agreement has been completed to acquire 50 acres of land from the Langlet family.
The property, located near 340 South in Charles Town, will be used for the future site of a comprehensive new medical campus to serve the residents of Jefferson County. A strategic planning team has already started to create a list of potential services on the campus which may include a wellness center, urgent care center, patient and community health education facility, interdisciplinary medical library and skill development/simulation laboratory. The plan does include a replacement hospital and medical office building/ambulatory care center.
“We have been working for some time with the Langlet family to have the opportunity to partner on a beautiful state of the art medical campus,” said Dr. Christina Coad, chief administrative officer at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. “I am pleased to announce today that the sales agreement has been signed and we hope to complete the purchase by Labor Day,” she added.
According to Coad, surveying has already begun and a celebration ceremony is being planned for late summer. “Our dedicated employees and their growth continue to be a priority for us, as well as always providing an exceptional, high quality, healing environment for our community and patients,” Coad said.
