WVUH-East Honors Board Director Service

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – West Virginia University Hospitals-East officials recently recognized seven outgoing board directors for over 150 collective years of service to WVUH-East, City Hospital, Jefferson Memorial Hospital and the WVUH-East Foundations.
 
As charter members of the WVUH-East board of directors, J. Wayne Lancaster, Donald Mickey, Randall Linn Sheetz, Max Oates, Jr, and Douglas Widmeyer were honored for their service on the health system board as well as their respective years of service on the boards of City Hospital and Jefferson Memorial Hospital prior to the merger.
 
Dr. Robert Jones was recognized for his service on the WVUH-East board as president of the Jefferson Memorial Hospital medical staff for the past two years. James Rickard was recognized for his service on the City Hospital Foundation board since 1987 and the City Hospital board of trustees prior to the merger in 2005.
 
“We thank all of these gentlemen for their long years of service to WVUH-East, City Hospital and Jefferson Memorial Hospital,” said Richard “Rick” Pill, chairman of the WVUH-East board of directors. “Their vision and foresight in forming WVUH-East will provide a lasting benefit to the citizens of the Eastern Panhandle,” he added.
