MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – West Virginia University Hospitals-East officials recently announced that WVUH-East Compliance Officer M. Caroline Cloud has become certified as a healthcare compliance professional by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA).
In 1998, the HCCA established a certification program to establish criteria for the determination of competence in the practice of health care compliance at a variety of levels and to recognize individuals meeting these criteria.
Cloud earned a graduate certificate in Healthcare Corporate Compliance from George Washington University in May 2010. She had worked as a health care compliance officer for five 5 years.
“Professional certification provides an employer with an assurance of competency and demonstrates an employee’s personal commitment to excellence. We applaud Caroline for this accomplishment “stated Anthony P. Zelenka, chief administrative officer at WVUH-East’s City Hospital.
As a certified healthcare compliance professional, Cloud may now use the letters CHC after her name. Every two years, 40 continuing education units are required to renew the certification.
