Enroll in this Group Program and Learn Coping Mechanisms to Manage Daily Stress
(Martinsburg, January 12, 2011)– Stress is difficult to avoid. Whether it’s work or family life, stress touches each of us on a daily basis. But, what’s important is how stress is managed. Now is the time to enroll in Discover Relaxation Within I and II, offered at City Hospital and Jefferson Memorial Hospital through Mountain State Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Preventive Heath Alliance.
Discover Relaxation Within is a wellness and lifestyle improvement program designed to identify and reduce personal stress through practical relaxation techniques and innovative stress management strategies. It gives participants the tools they need to recognize stress, become stress-resilient and develop coping skills. This classroom-based, group program is led by a Mountain State-trained behavioral health specialist. The program offers a variety of useful information, from how stress affects physical health and emotions to how one interacts with the world and others around them. For persons who have completed the initial Discover Relaxation Within I, Discover Relaxation Within II explores additional ways to integrate relaxation, time management, self-insight and creative skills into your life.
Participants are taught a variety of skills, including deep breathing, meditation, visualization and progressive muscle relaxation. Upon completion of the program, participants are equippedwith newfound coping strategies to manage daily life stressors.
