Support Groups

Adult Children of Alcoholics
Provides support for adults who grew up adapting to a behavior in a family where a member, especially a parent, was an active alcoholic. Meets every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Jefferson Memorial Hospital's 3rd Floor Classroom.

Al-Anon/Al-Ateen
Offers hope and recovery to all people affected by the alcoholism in a relative or friend. Meets every Friday at 8 p.m. in Jefferson Memorial's 3rd Floor Classroom.

Alcoholics Anonymous
A fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

• City Campus Meets every Saturday at 2 p.m. in City Hospital's Meeting Room 1.
• Jefferson Campus Meets every Friday evening at 8 p.m., and every Sunday morning at 11 a.m., in Jefferson Memorial's 1st Floor Conference Room.
  

Alzheimer's Caregivers Support Group
Allows caregivers the opportunity to share feelings, gain encouragement and obtain practical information and advice from others in similar situations. Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the McCormack Center's 2nd Floor Conference Room on City Hospital’s campus.

Cancer Survivor/Patient Support Group
Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the McCormack Center's 2nd Floor Conference Room on City Hospital's Campus.

Children With Diabetes Support Group
For children with either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. Meets the second Saturday of each month from 10—11 a.m. in City Hospital's Meeting Room 1.

Diabetes Support Group
Provides information and support for persons diagnosed with diabetes.

• City Campus: Meets the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in City Hospital's Meeting Room 1.
• Jefferson Campus: Meets the last Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Hospital's 3rd Floor Classroom.

Overeaters Anonymous
Provides support for those wanting to develop and maintain healthier eating habits. The group practices the 12-step recovery program on a physical, emotional and spirtual level.

• City Campus: Meets every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in City Hospital's Meeting Room 1.
• Jefferson Campus: Meets every Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. in Jefferson Memorial's 3rd Floor Classroom.

Prostate Cancer/Awareness Support Group
For men afflicted with prostate cancer, survivors and their family members.

• City Campus: Meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the McCormack Center's 2nd Floor Conference Room.
• Jefferson Campus: Meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Hospital's 3rd Floor Classroom.

Teen Diabetes Support Group
Specifically targeted to teens ages 13—18 with diabetes. The group meets the third Sunday of the month beginning at 4 p.m. As meeting locations vary, call 304-596-6839 for further details.
