Benefits — Coverage Levels

Short-Term Disability Coverage

This voluntary benefit replaces up to 50% of the employee's income in the event of a qualified sickness or injury that keeps the employee from working for up to a maximum of 6 months (180 calendar days) per incident. Full-time and parttime status employees can choose between a 14-or 30-day elimination period.

Employer Provided

Long-Term Disability Coverage

WVUH-East provides basic LTD at no cost to full-time and part-time status employees. After 180 days of continuous disability, the plan pays a benefit of 50% of the average monthly income, up to $4,000 per month (less Social Security, worker's comp, and income protection insurance) for a qualified illness or injury.

Life and AD&D Insurance*

All full-time status employees automatically receive employer-provided coverage of 1 times their annual base pay (minimum benefit is $50,000, up to a max of $100,000) at no cost to employees. All part-time status employees automatically receive employer-provided coverage of $5,000 at no cost.
